Luis Gasca - The Little Giant
We would like to welcome to EastLArevue.com the Great Luis Gasca. Luis was born in Houston, Texas in 1940 and has recorded and worked with some notable groups including: Malo, Mongo Santamaria, Janis Joplin, Little Joe y La Familia, Perez Prado, Cal Tjader, Woody Herman, Stan Kenton, Count Basie, Carlos Santana, Van Morrison, The Grateful Dead, George Benson, Joe Henderson, Jefferson Airplane and countless others. Luis is known for his powerful and melodic sound and his great arrangements. Luis has been apart of the music scene for over 50 years performing and recording in many different genres of music. This interview was conducted via telephone as Luis took time from traveling in Mexico to visit with Chico Manqueros.
