It is amazing how the internet offers such diverse

Family and Friends,
Rumor control on cousin Joe Jama. Question asked
if Joe Jama is losing his eye sight due to diabetes?
Currently, Joe has limited eyesight. According
to Joe Jama and The Proof Band Member Trumpeter
Al Gomez Jr. when performing with us Sat. night,
Joe has surgery scheduled that may restore his
condition. I understand he began hemorrhaging
behind the eyes after performing at the national
Tejano Music Award gig in Dallas. He is unable
to perform at this time but is in positive spirits
and very optimistic for a quick recovery. We're
praying for a 100 percent recovery and I will
be in contact with him. Al Gomez also mentioned
promoters have been calling and trying to get
in touch with Joe for performances in Houston,
Dallas, Louisiana and a possible European Tour.
However, we're looking at a 6 to 8 week recovery
period before he may resume a limited performance
schedule. His condition is due to diabetes complications.
High demands across the U.S. to Europe for Joe
Jama's 45 collectable records and CD sales have
skyrocketed in recent years due to the hugh upsurge
in San Antonio, Texas' 'Westside' sounds combined
with Joe Jama's soulful style. More to follow....

Chico your show is cool to listen to. I like
the way you mix the music and I have learned a
lot about the music from listening to your show.
You have a personal approach that my wife and
I enjoy listening to.
The Eastlarevue.com is our favorite spot for
listening to that good latino music. I have been
a fan of your show going back to 1988 when you
were on with Sancho on KPCC. I attended several
of the functions and you were always a respectful
and personable young man. We even attended the
concerts when you were playing the Congas and
Timbales with I think the band was Prime Time.
One of the shows I remember you playing the timbales
when Irma Rangel /Cui Cui and her singers were
perfoming. You did a nice solo que no? I am glad
that you continued with your radio passion and
that you can still play that good musica. Your
collection is awesome. It is one thing to have
a lot of music but you know how to mix it and
make it a nice listening experience. I have really
enjoyed the new music from Mestizo, Suenos, Mystique,
Joe Bataan, Los Elegantes, Sudden Move Band, Chico,
El Chicano that you have played. Can you play
La Barca by the Trio Intimo por que my hermanito
that
is a beautiful jam.
God Bless EastLArevue.com and Gracias Chico for

G'day Chico!
Greetings from sunny Gold Coast, Australia.
I have been listening to your program for the
past three weeks and will do so as long as I could.
It is cool. I got connected at 6 am EST on Mondays
and I enjoyed it for about 11/2 hours before I
leave for work. I listen at work all day long.
I am an attorney here in Queensland Australia
and I am Originally from El Salvador, I love jazz
but believe it or not I did not know much about
Latin jazz for me was salsa, merengue, mambo,
you name it. It was not until I saw a movie called
'Calle 54' here in Gold Coast that I realised
that this gender of music existed on its own and
I have got hooked since. After the movie I did
search the net and found latinjazclub.com and
then your program at CRN, KCAA and then now your
show on the Eastlarevue.com site and here I am
telling you how much I enjoy it.
un abrazo bro. and keep up your good work.

into Internet music don't know what they're missing!
For several years, the ONLY reason I had a computer

w/ no plans to 'rehab' from it. Yes, I admit,
I'm stuck in the past, AND PROUD OF IT! I've been
listening to 'my loco Primo' Chuy & Frankie

all the great DJ's featured on LARevue. I had
begun experiencing problems making the 'connection'
to the programs, and when I finally couldn't stand
missing not one more show, I finally begged for
help! I emailed Steven, Chico, Chino and the guys
asking for suggestions as to what was causing
my inability to log on. Boy, everyone PERSONALLY
emailed back their advice immediately. Webmaster
Alfred finally fixed me right up! What dedication!
Thanks to all of you who took interest in getting

Where have I been all this time? I just listened
to your shows for the very first time. I love
it! I love your voice, your reviews in "News
From The Brown Side of Town", your sense
of humor, and most of all the Califas brown sound.
Frankie baby, you have some new fans in Austin,
Texas and we're spreading the word! If we didn't
already have a commitment on Feb 23, we'd fly
in for the Mark Woods CD release party this Saturday.
What a lineup! Keep up the great work Frankie,
Stephen and all the crew at East LA Revue! Looking
forward to a future trip to L.A. and to someday
meeting you guys in person!

We are in need of movie dvds. We are watching
reruns of the same movies over and over. There
is no television here unless we pay the price
of course. So I live off of dvd's. And we trade
movies with eachother. I am all out of movies
and the people I trade with have nothing new.
The store here has nothing we haven't seen and
they want a lot of money for a dvd. It would really
be a great help if you could send any good movies
you don't watch anymore or bootleg copies. And
particularly I am looking for a movie called JOY
RIDE. We are all mostly action movie fans and
scary movies. But we could really use any comedy
as well. And vampire movies are my favorite. For
you with the special heart, please no porn. We
would just get in trouble for having it. I don't
mean to put anyone through any trouble. Just if
you can help it would be great!

I know it's a lot work but worth it.
Chico, this makes me remember the old days when
I would go hear Puente, Machito, JC Torres, Manny
Lopez. Eddie Cano, Cal and Johnny Martinez.
In those I couldn't afford the recordings on $2
per hour. Now I go hear, Chico, Suave, Spanish
Harlem, Fania All Stars and still can't afford
to get the cd's
But thanks to you and eastlarevue, I can hear
over and over. Muchas Gracias, I am now complete...

message: Hello Mr. & Mrs. Chico,
> Primero, let me first wish you both Feliz
Aniversario! When I heard that it was only your
1st anniversary, I was truly surprised because
as great as your show is, it shows all the signs
and flavor of one who is seasoned. I came upon
your internet show accidently about six months
ago and have been tuned in since. I am here in
New York where I thought I was amongst the greatest
music but after coming upon your show I realize
I was sadly mistaken because you definately have
cornered that market. I never feel as if I have
to request a special song because every song you
play I feel is played especially for me. I will
be relocating to Tucson at the end of the year
and it will feel good to know I will have a great
show like yours to tune into while adjusting to
my new surroundings. In closing, I'd like to wish
you continued success, prosperidad y amor and
I know you will be around for a very long time.
Keep up the GREAT WORK! All the best from the
