message: Chico what a fabulous program you have. I have been an avid listener for about 8 months now and your selection and knowledge of music is awesome. I am always listening to the site for the new vinyl classics and your show is my favorite. I enjoyed Poquito soul and all the music you played especially the Trio Del Alma and Vudu Cafe these 2 new shows continue in that mood. It is amazing how the internet offers such diverse and complete programming alternatives to the boring and predictable way that Radio is nowadays. The music from you show and site should be on regular radio. You sound like a cool guy and you have hip way of using spanish. My wife gets a kick out of hearing your show because she says you talk like I do. In my daytime job I have to be professional but when I am at home with friends and familia I like to be myself and speak my spanglish. Chico good luck and please continue sharing your musical pan dulce with us. We love it.

Radioperson: ****URGENT PRESS RELEASE****

message: San Antonio, Texas... 8Sept08

Family and Friends,
Rumor control on cousin Joe Jama. Question asked if Joe Jama is losing his eye sight due to diabetes?
Currently, Joe has limited eyesight. According to Joe Jama and The Proof Band Member Trumpeter Al Gomez Jr. when performing with us Sat. night, Joe has surgery scheduled that may restore his condition. I understand he began hemorrhaging behind the eyes after performing at the national Tejano Music Award gig in Dallas. He is unable to perform at this time but is in positive spirits and very optimistic for a quick recovery. We're praying for a 100 percent recovery and I will be in contact with him. Al Gomez also mentioned promoters have been calling and trying to get in touch with Joe for performances in Houston, Dallas, Louisiana and a possible European Tour. However, we're looking at a 6 to 8 week recovery period before he may resume a limited performance schedule. His condition is due to diabetes complications. High demands across the U.S. to Europe for Joe Jama's 45 collectable records and CD sales have skyrocketed in recent years due to the hugh upsurge in San Antonio, Texas' 'Westside' sounds combined with Joe Jama's soulful style. More to follow....

Chico your show is cool to listen to. I like the way you mix the music and I have learned a lot about the music from listening to your show. You have a personal approach that my wife and I enjoy listening to.

The Eastlarevue.com is our favorite spot for listening to that good latino music. I have been a fan of your show going back to 1988 when you were on with Sancho on KPCC. I attended several of the functions and you were always a respectful and personable young man. We even attended the concerts when you were playing the Congas and Timbales with I think the band was Prime Time. One of the shows I remember you playing the timbales when Irma Rangel /Cui Cui and her singers were perfoming. You did a nice solo que no? I am glad that you continued with your radio passion and that you can still play that good musica. Your collection is awesome. It is one thing to have a lot of music but you know how to mix it and make it a nice listening experience. I have really enjoyed the new music from Mestizo, Suenos, Mystique, Joe Bataan, Los Elegantes, Sudden Move Band, Chico, El Chicano that you have played. Can you play La Barca by the Trio Intimo por que my hermanito…that is a beautiful jam.

God Bless EastLArevue.com and Gracias Chico for your dedication to this beautiful culture and your contributions to nuestra musica!

It sounds like most of the DJ's have alot of knowledge of the music and the artists that they play which I think is a great enhancement to the programming. I also enjoy the music of some of the local california bands. I will be checking out the vinyl classics and your features. Chico my man you sound like a cool cat and you are hip to some good sounds. You have many listeners including myself who cannot get enough of the music. I just listened to the Eastside Connection special hosted by Chico and I have to thank you again. I remember hearing this band live many times around Los Angeles. I still have the original album and 2 of the singles with the psycadelic vinyl. I often wondered what had happened to the group. It was nice to revist the music and hear some background on the music from the producers. Great Job eastlarevue.com! you guys are keeping the music alive.

Radioperson: The Chico show

message: after listening to the new shows I just cant thank you enough for all the good music you play the real music with real instruments and with soulful vocals. The way you introduce your show is right on Chico. The sounds of Congas, saxophones sound so sweet for us fans of good music. This musica is too good and eastlarevue.com is the best site on the net. I have checked others like on live365 and some others that I dont remember but you guys are sharp and professional. Please accept this note of thanks and to let you know that you have some really loyal and appreciative fans. My wife loves the music and shows too and I told her that this year I am going to be broke trying to buy all this music that you play. Who is the Cintron band.? wow what a sound? what about Mestizo ? I love their sound. why cant there be a radio station that plays all this stuff instead of the junk they do. All of this from Los Angeles where the stars shine brighter and stronger and where the stars of eastlarevue.com are always on. Frankie, Chico, Rocky and all of the others I have 3 words for you - Hijole Que Suave. now I am goind to groove mas y muy suave and suave asi.
Just like some tasty carne asada and frijolitos and a cold corona you guys are a nice combination.

Greetings from Australia
Date: Tue, 9 JUL 2008 06:31:41 +1000

G'day Chico!
Greetings from sunny Gold Coast, Australia.
I have been listening to your program for the past three weeks and will do so as long as I could. It is cool. I got connected at 6 am EST on Mondays and I enjoyed it for about 11/2 hours before I leave for work. I listen at work all day long. I am an attorney here in Queensland Australia and I am Originally from El Salvador, I love jazz but believe it or not I did not know much about Latin jazz for me was salsa, merengue, mambo, you name it. It was not until I saw a movie called 'Calle 54' here in Gold Coast that I realised that this gender of music existed on its own and I have got hooked since. After the movie I did search the net and found latinjazclub.com and then your program at CRN, KCAA and then now your show on the Eastlarevue.com site and here I am telling you how much I enjoy it.

un abrazo bro. and keep up your good work.

I emailed Steven, Chico, Chino and the guys asking for suggestions as to what was causing my inability to log on. Boy, everyone PERSONALLY emailed back their advice immediately. Webmaster Alfred finally fixed me right up! What dedication! Thanks to all of you who took interest in getting me back online w/ you. And so here I am YEAH! FINALLY enjoying the MALO concert, Chico's 'Que Suave', DJ Velaz and his El Chuco contributon, Chino, Mr.OG and all the contributors, too many to mention. Keep it up guys! I travel from place to place. working construction, but feel at home no matter where I am, thanks to you. I love you guy! Best regards, La MUY loca, Lucy.

message: Mr OG is quite consistent in his music mixes. I enjoy putting on his show while I sit and write. As I do write, some of those oldies stir a lot of memories, good mememories and or lost memories. I think back to my life and remember a time when things were a lot simpler and finding that perfect oldie mix to make an 8track tape to play in my 55 chevy was a top priority.

I laugh when I hear some of those songs because they bring back a funny moment or two, but mostly they remind me of my home.
Thanks for having Mr OG and his Lost Memories Show.

Thank you Chuy for a very informative show with some personal insight and remembrances. We encourage everyone to listen this show. We are in need of movie dvds. We are watching reruns of the same movies over and over. There is no television here unless we pay the price of course. So I live off of dvd's. And we trade movies with eachother. I am all out of movies and the people I trade with have nothing new. The store here has nothing we haven't seen and they want a lot of money for a dvd. It would really be a great help if you could send any good movies you don't watch anymore or bootleg copies. And particularly I am looking for a movie called JOY RIDE. We are all mostly action movie fans and scary movies. But we could really use any comedy as well. And vampire movies are my favorite. For you with the special heart, please no porn. We would just get in trouble for having it. I don't mean to put anyone through any trouble. Just if you can help it would be great!

message: Love the playlist. All shows should have. I know it's a lot work but worth it.
Chico, this makes me remember the old days when I would go hear Puente, Machito, JC Torres, Manny Lopez. Eddie Cano, Cal and Johnny Martinez.
In those I couldn't afford the recordings on $2 per hour. Now I go hear, Chico, Suave, Spanish Harlem, Fania All Stars and still can't afford to get the cd's
But thanks to you and eastlarevue, I can hear over and over. Muchas Gracias, I am now complete...

Radioperson: Gozando Con Chico

message: Hello Mr. & Mrs. Chico, > Primero, let me first wish you both Feliz Aniversario! When I heard that it was only your 1st anniversary, I was truly surprised because as great as your show is, it shows all the signs and flavor of one who is seasoned. I came upon your internet show accidently about six months ago and have been tuned in since. I am here in New York where I thought I was amongst the greatest music but after coming upon your show I realize I was sadly mistaken because you definately have cornered that market. I never feel as if I have to request a special song because every song you play I feel is played especially for me. I will be relocating to Tucson at the end of the year and it will feel good to know I will have a great show like yours to tune into while adjusting to my new surroundings. In closing, I'd like to wish you continued success, prosperidad y amor and I know you will be around for a very long time. Keep up the GREAT WORK! All the best from the eastcoast

Brooklyn , New York,

Juanita

message: Hey Chico ..sup bro? I just finished listening to all of the show you sent me and am extremely happy with your choices of music. I thought that maybe having some of the actual performers comment on their music might be an added magical touch to your show. If I can help you in any way please contact me. By the way..see you at the Greek Theatre in May...
